"In this section I am going to be showing you how to properly pick a helmet if you want to progress in snowboarding and you don't want to worry about having head injuries or getting concussions or anything like that. A bunch of different companies make really really lightweight but durable snowboarding helmets. As you can see right here this is the same exact helmet. This one has the added padding and warmth for your ears but it simply snaps out and eventually looks like this so it turns into a skateboarding helmet without the ear pads or anything. Another different thing you might notice is this one has the goggle strap button on top. Some people prefer to wear their goggles on the outside of their helmet but a trend that has become really popular is wearing your beanies on the inside of the helmet as opposed to wearing them on the outside of the helmet. As you might notice here the sizing are also different. This is a youth so it is much smaller and this is an adult large helmet. If you are wearing you beanie and goggles underneath your helmet you also want to take that into consideration in getting your helmet bigger but not too big so your head is not swimming in it because it is not going to do what it needs to do if you do if you do get into an exact. It does need to fit snug with your beanies and goggles on so I'm going to demonstrate how this helmet is supposed to fit with the beanie and goggles underneath it. What you want to do when you put it on is not have your goggle strap super low and not to higher because your helmet will push it down and you want to make sure you are wearing a beanie that is not super thick because it will add pressure points on the inside of the helmet and eventually it will just give you a headache throughout the day. What you want to do is slide the helmet over the goggles and the beanie. It will push your goggle strap down a little bit and that is why you start out with your goggle strap a little bit higher. You want to make sure it is snug on your head. As you can see here if I move forward the helmet moves with me and it is not swimming around on my head. It is also important to buckle the helmet because if you have a helmet on with it not buckled, if you fall and you actually need a helmet it pops right off. So you put it on and your buckle strap should be tight underneath your chin, not in front or too far under the chin or that is the same thing as not having it buckled. You can see it is a snug fit. I'm not swimming around if I shake my head back and forth but it is still comfortable even though I have my beanies underneath. Everything kind of fits together and helmet companies realize that now because they are making it work well with having your beanies and goggles underneath as opposed to only have them outside. And that is pretty much how you go through and pick out a helmet even if you do want to wear it with your beanie and goggles underneath."
