"A manual of the quarter pipe like the one that you just saw is a slight variation on the regular manual. Basically once you get into it, it is not very different at all from a regular manual just on flat ground. The tricky part and the thing that throws a lot of people off is that basically you are popping off of a quarter pipe and generating a lot of upward momentum and when you are coming down from that upward momentum it could be really difficult to try and maintain your balance point once you get down onto your back wheel. The big key when you are doing deck manuals is that you want to make sure that you don't go to fast when you are coming out. You basically want to go just fast enough that you can kind of gently bump your back wheel over the top of the quarter pipe and land so that you are not generating to much upward momentum because basically the further you coming from when your dropping on to your back wheel the more difficult it is going to be to maintain that balance point. So basically once you got that down you have that nice sort of gentle bump up over the top rather then a real jump you walk in your manual and then you want to start looking for the quarter pipe where you are jumping back in and there basically you want to just keep carving. Make sure your front wheel stays up until you are over the end of the quarter pipe because once your front wheel is basically over the side of the quarter pipe you just give it a little gentle hop and notice the front ending and you can ride out perfect.
