on 11/30/2008 What a great site. I just started working out again, and wanted to start preparing boiled eggs for a quick protein no-carb snack. 5 second search and I find exactly what I need.

"One thing I'm always surprised about is how many people are serious when they say "I can't boil and egg." It's a very simple process but I understand why it's really confusing, because go on the internet and there's like, twenty different ways to do it. This is the simplest. Take, I'm going to be making six eggs for our little egg sandwiches. I'm going to take six...one, two, three, four, five six. There we go. And I'm taking a big pot because I don't want them to stack up. I want them to be single layer in the pot. I'm going to cover them with water, at least half an inch to an inch. OK, I'm going to bring these to a boil and then reduce it to a simmer for twelve to fifteen minutes. That way, simmer means so they're not on high all the time, because that's what causes you to get, A-rubbery whites, secondly, you know that little gray ring you get around the yolk? If you cook them slowly that way you're more likely to avoid getting that ring. It can still happen but this is more reliable way to do that. So I'm going to leave that come to a boil, twelve to fifteen minutes, then they'll be ready to peel. So, after the twelve to fifteen minutes, these eggs are perfectly boiled. And the easiest way to peel an egg-under running water. Let it cool a little bit, of course. You don't want to burn your fingertips off. Knock it against the side of your pot and then the running water helps you ease it right off. And there we go."
