"In this clip, we're going to talk about the bandhas, or locks. Bandhas are essential to the practice of Kundalini yoga, because it helps to regulate the energy of the body. So, it can be used to raise our consciousness. In, specifically, there are four main bandhas that we use. The first is the yalahanda bandha, or the neck lock, which sort of looks like at attention, pulling the chin slightly back. We use this in meditation frequently, and some other exercises. The diaphragm lock is less frequently used. We won't talk about that now. The mullah bandha is the root lock, and we'll talk about that a little more. The great lock, or maha bandha combines all three locks. Now, let's go back to the mullah bandha. The mullah bandha is from the base of the spine. It's like you're holding a urination. You're pulling up on the rectal muscles and pubic hexes giot muscles. So, as you inhale, pull up on those muscles, and also pull in on the navel point, suspend, and exhale."
