I know you've been there- you want to plan a romantic, friendly picnic and impress that special someone, but you have no idea what people eat at picnics. Apple pies? Pudding? Iced tea? How to do transport liquids? Do places sell those red and white checkered blankets anymore? Where do you get a wicker basket to hold everything? And what about sticky silverware on the walk home? Face it, picnics are tough stuff. The picnic may have been invented in the first century BC, as Julius Caesar was too tired after a long battle to walk back to his tent for lunch. Instead, some say, his soldiers carried the meal to Caesar, letting him sit on a checkered blanket and taste various cheeses.
In this free video series, expert hostess and aspiring celebrity Marieve Herington shows you how to make recipes for your picnic. You will learn how to make and take grilled vegetables, cous cous, corn salad, chocolate chip cookies, and more. Everything she teaches you to make, she also teaches you how to wrap and transport for that picnic. It is all here.
" Hi, I am Marieve Herington with Expert Village and today?s party is actually not a dinner party that we are having here. We are going to take it off site because today, I am planning a picnic lunch, that we will pack up and take to some beautiful location to enjoy there. So, I am going to start by grilling up some vegetables. Zucchini, egg plant, some really nice creamy mushrooms for the grilled vegetable sandwiches. And to go on the bread, I am going to make a homemade Tapenade and olive spread, which is very flavorful. And to go on the side, I am going to do a fresh corn salad, as well as a very refreshing couscous salad. And then, to finish off the lunch, really, really good chocolate chip cookies. They are not your average chocolate chip cookies because they got three kinds of chocolate chips, white, dark and milk. So let?s get started."
