" Hi! I’m Angela on behalf of expertvillage.com, and right now I’m going to demonstrate a way of stretching your groin area. It’s extremely important that you do this before running especially, because once you pull these muscles after hyper-extending your legs you will be in so much pain. You want to start out in a position like this. It’s very comfortable, it’s fine. What you want to do is cup your hands around your toes, and pull in slightly. You can start to feel a little bit of strain right here. In the exercises you want to go as follows: lean in, and push your pelvis forward a little bit. You’ll be able to immediately feel the stretch. You want to be really careful not to over stretch though, especially not with this exercise. You just want to slowly lean in, feel the pressure, and hold this for about 15-30 seconds. You want to be aware of pulsing and going like this, and pressing too much in this area. That will cause a lot of strain on the muscles, and it will probably pull them. The more and more that you get used to this, the further and further you can pull your feet in because the stretch is increased and you’re leaning forward. "
