" Hi! I’m Angela on behalf of expertvillage.com, and I’m going to show you one way of stretching your leg and gluteals. The first step is it’s nice to have a mat with a soft surface, where as on a carpet it’s harder to lay comfortably. You end up hurting your bones and stuff like that, it’s just very uncomfortable. So, it’s nice to have an exercising mat. What you want to do is lay flat on the ground. Try and have your buttocks and your back comfortably lying on the ground. You don’t want to be arched, slouched, or anything to the side. You want to have one of your legs or both of them initially being bent like this. What you want to do is slowly lift up on of the legs. You want to grab your calf and your gluteals area, and you want to slowly pull the leg toward the chest. You want to stop when you feel a little bit of strenuous work on your muscles, and you hold it for about 15-30 seconds. You want to be careful that you don’t pull too hard on the muscles, or else you’ll end up straining them and the exercise that you’re anticipating for later on the day will be nearly impossible. "
