"Hamstring stretch facilitates the entire back of the leg from the Achilles on up into the gluteal attachment. And standing to the side we want to make sure we've got a bend in both knees supporting and the stretching leg, just out over towards the top of the thigh. And we're going to release like we're sitting back in that chair. If we pop that toe up, relax in the ankle, but we pop that toe up to facilitate a more of an elongation in the back of the leg. So we inhale and exhale out over the top of the thigh. Inhale and exhale out over the top of the thigh. We don't want to bounce with it but with each exhale we want to elongate just a little further. And then as you get more flexible you can reach down for that toe. Not pulling or pressing against but thinking of elongating out over the top of the thigh. Release. You want to hold 10 to 30 seconds each side. If this is a post work out stretch just make sure you leave your head above the heart."
