"Standing quad stretch is going to hit the four muscles in the front of the thigh down into the stabilizers of the knee. If you want to start out by having your hand against a wall or putting a hand on a chair in front of you, that would be a good place to start. Otherwise, you're going to create a little bit of a balance challenge here. Slight bend in the supporting knee. We're going to reach around for our shoelaces. Now, our goal here is not to arch in the back, but I'm pressing that hip flexor towards the front of my room and keeping a nice tall back. The more you engage your core, the more you can involve the whole body. Stabilizing and practicing balance, but your goal is to stretch right through the front part of the thigh into the stabilizers of the knee. You don't want to pull the knee back. We want to keep a nice line with the knee into the hip. And not a good idea to cross. Then I've taken my joints out of line. It actually shuts that muscle off in a stretch. So just drive the heel up towards the derriere and holding ten to thirty seconds each side."
