"A cervical stretch for the lateral aspect of the neck creates a nice separation between the cervical and delt, your shoulder. You want to start by finding first a position that you can sit in comfortably, whether it be on a floor mat or even on a chair. It can be done anywhere and we're going to take, think about taking an ear to a shoulder without elevating in the shoulders. Take a big inhale and as you exhale, elongate to one side finding your active range of motion or stopping point. Again, hold and feel a nice separation. To extend the stretch, you can bring your arm out to the side and this is called passive resistance. It's pressing against the hand. You're stretching and releasing. Stretching and releasing with each breath. You're not pulling on the joint out of line. You'll come neutral and again, let it melt into the movement. Ear to shoulder, creating a nice separation between that cervical and delt. If you want to add in passive resistance again press against the hand. Pull on the neck to get a deeper stretch. And neutral. Holding your stretches ten, working your way up to thirty seconds."
