"One thing I was so impressed with when I was in France was the colors of the flowers, of the tulips in particular. We just don't have those kinds of colors in North America so this is sort of my tribute to beautiful tulips that I saw when I was there in April and so this is a really, really, really simple arrangement. You don't want to go too over the top if it's just a casual welcome home lunch, but just a few flowers to decorate the table is always nice. I'm cutting them really short. You'll see this isn't even really a vase at all. Is it? That sits there and if you want to add a couple of leaves, find some that aren't damaged and put those along with the tulips and see how that looks. It sort of depends on which angle you're at. Maybe that one is sort of overwhelming for the bunch. So that just will sort of sit on our table just like that. Give us a little color and one of the last things we want to do just as a bit of an appetizer to have with a glass of wine, a very crusty baguette that I will cut and put alongside some pate. If you're not familiar with that, it's just a meat spread, pate de champagne, so a country pate. So I'm just going to, this is a lot for two of us, so I'm going to cut a slightly smaller slice in the middle, fan out the bread. See, I'm not using fancy dishes or anything, but somehow kind of arrange your food to make the dishes look impressive and slide the pate de champagne and to serve a little spreader and these are the last thing we need to get set for our French bistro lunch."
