"Hi. I'm Suzanne Von Schaack with Expert Village. Today I'm going to teach you how to take the baton, do a horizontal figure eight and hand it off to your other hand. Horizontal figure eight, the toe goes under, the head goes on top. When you pass it to the other hand, you catch between the thumb and the forefinger and you continue the twirl. The hand is still on top of the baton. Let me show you again. Start with the baton in your right hand. The hand is on the top, the head is to your left, the toe is to the right. The toe goes under, the head goes to the top. Continue twirling. When you pass it, you catch with an open hand. Toe goes under, head goes on top. When you do this in a really nice time, once you learn the twirl and you become comfortable with it, the transfer is like that. You toss it. You can toss it back and forth. From the right to the left. From here, you'll end up tossing it up in the air. That's how you do the transfer from right to left."
