"Hi. I'm Suzanne Von Schaack with Expert Village. Today we're going to do a reverse figure eight with the baton. The reverse, the figure eight, horizontal figure eight is where the toe goes under and the head goes over the top. To reverse it, start with your hand in the middle, and the head goes under and the toe goes to the top. It's just the opposite. Again, it's all in the wrist. The wrist forces the toe under and the head, the head under and the toe over the top. The head under, toe over the top. So then it becomes a wrist, arm movement. This is a horizontal figure eight, with the toe going under and the head on the top. The reverse, the head goes under, the toe over the top. Head under, toe over the top. So it looks like this. It gives another dimension to the twirl and it can create an up and down motion instead of a flat motion, which is the horizontal. This is the reverse. Head under, toe over the top. Head under, toe over the top. As you begin to move it faster, it's all in letting the baton twirl between the thumb and fingers and the wrist movement. Head under, toe over the top. Head under, toe over the top. This is a reverse, horizontal figure eight."
