"Hi. I'm Suzanne Von Schaack with Expert Village. Today, I'm going to teach you how to do a horizontal figure eight. Start with your hand over the middle of the baton. The head of the baton is always to the left. The toe of the baton is to the right. You're now going to turn the head of the baton over the top of your arm and the toe goes under. Toe under, head over the top. Toe under, head over the top. It's all in the wrist. Watch how I've got my hand over the top. I'm now going to put my thumb and my fingers over the top of the middle to control the twirl. It's totally in the wrist. I don't move my fingers. I don't move my thumb. They're base, it's all in the wrist motion. My wrist promotes the toe going under and the baton, the head of the baton going over the top. When you start to really twirl, you get this kind of motion. You then relax your fingers as you go faster and, but it's all in the wrist, all in the wrist. Just start in the beginning though. Do it very slow. Toe under, head on the top. Toe under, head over the top. Start letting it loosen up in the hand. I don't know if you can see from here. Loosen up in the hand. This is a horizontal figure eight."
