"Hi! I'm Mandy Butler on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to talk to you today about cheerleading motions. Now I'm going to go over correct technique for the clasp. The difference in the clap and the clasp is the way your hands are placed. Notice that my fingers are together. They're not interlocked. A lot of people try to clasp like this. I'm going to take my blades, rotate them, and grasp. Now, I have a clasp. That's what my hands are doing. Again, I'm going to check and see if they're in the correct position as far as their relationship to my chin, and they are. My elbows are nice and in. I don't have chicken wings. My elbows are in and I'm going to clasp. A personal pet peeve of mine is when people clasp and it looks like someone has muted them like this. The reason to put a clasp into choreography rather than a clap is to get that noise. If you can't hear it, it looks a little bit strange. This is the clasp."
