Lizbeth Muller and today I'm going to show you how to make Spanish style bacalao. You know like I said bacalao is very salty. When you first remove it out of the bag, you would notice like it very very salty. Look at that it has tons of salt in it. So you have to remove some of the salt that is why it did not have any salt in this ingredient because it has a lot in there already so what I do is I wash out the salt a little bit. Then I'm going to begin to boil it to remove more of it so I just wash out the salt like this a bit. I'm going to boil it for about 5 minutes. I want to keep some of the salt but not that much. So wash it out really really well. Look how the water is kind of white from the salt. Rinse it out and see it is thin like this. The Spanish like to cook bacalao they cook it in big chunks and wholes. Jamaicans they cook bacalao in the morning, they eat there for breakfast. So there is different ways to make bacalao. We like ours with rice so we are going to go ahead and place it in here.
