"Hi, I'm Juan Carlos with Expert Village. Today I'm going to teach you how to slide. In this segment we're going to explain the type of injuries suffered when you slide the wrong way. The most typical injuries that can happen is any part of your legs or you ankle or your foot. When you are not able to tuck in the leg far enough or the cleat gets caught as you tuck in the leg, you can suffer a serious injury like a broken ankle or torn ligaments. Other things that may happen is when you slide head first maybe to home plate, we don't recommend that you slide head first to home plate as the catcher that is blocking the plate may have metal cleats. We had incidents where fingernails are lost or hands are broken and things of that matter. The other thing that can occur from sliding wrong is probably hitting the ground really hard with your knee causing damage to your knee ligaments or your knee cap or such."
