"Hi, I'm Juan Carlos with Expert Village. Today I'm going to teach you how to slide. In this segment we're going to let you know when not to slide. Where there is no need to slide. The obvious situation is obviously on the pass ball when you easily advance to one base to another. Where there is no need to slide because they're not making an attempt to try to throw you out. Another situation when you not need to slide if the third base coach or base coach actually signals that you do not need to slide meaning he'll call standing the up. When the ball is hit for a sure double and you can not advance to another base and you get to the base fairly easily. The third thing is when you're about to score on a base hit and there is no attempt to throw you out at home plate there is no need to slide in that situation as well."
