"Hi, I'm Juan Carlos with Expert Village. Today I'm going to teach you how to slide. In this segment we're going to be talk about the position of our hands when making the slide when we hit the ground. Now it is very important that the hands are off the ground. If your hands are on the ground, you will prevent any momentum going towards the base. As you're taking your running lead and you decide to go down on the ground, just make sure that you keep your hands up when you make the figure four, like so. As you take off if the hands are above the ground, your momentum should carry you from the point you go down all the way to the base reaching the base successfully. Keeping your hands on the ground will not only prevent yourself from momentum any momentum going towards the base. It will also cause injury to your hands and your arms."
