"Hi, I'm Juan Carlos with Expert Village. Today I'm going to teach you how to slide. In this segment we're going to be talking about getting a good jump before we slide to a base. Now in baseball we definitely get our lead off. Now getting a good jump is all about as soon as the pitcher makes its movement to the plate, you want to pivot and take off as fast as you can. Now as you're running as hard as you can the harder you run, you are able to slide to the base more effectively with more momentum going to the base as you go down. Without that jump, without that great jump, your unable to have a successful slide when you steal a base. "
