Series Summary

Cheeseburgers are about as American as apple pie, but let’s face it: they’re seducing us down the road of obesity and heart disease faster than we know or would like to admit. If you’ve seen Morgan Spurlock’s assessment of the situation as presented in Super Size Me, you know that eating fast food, especially the deadly value meal combo of a burger, fries and a soda, can negatively affect your health and well-being in only a short amount of time. And chances are that you’ve been eating cheeseburgers for more than just 30 days. So it’s time to face the music and admit that sometimes, you do have to take care of yourself and watch what you eat.

In these free healthy cooking videos, learn how to make turkey cheeseburgers with parmesan, tomato and avocado—all on a pita bread bun. Our expert will walk you through this taste adventure, of course listing the ingredients and utensils needed, how to make a dijonaise sauce, how to grate the cheese and add seasonings, how to form the patties and pan sear them, and how to assemble the burger. As an added taste bonus, learn how to make an easy onion ring recipe to go along with your meal.

Do yourself a favor, make this turkey cheeseburger recipe and see if it doesn’t add a nice change to your diet.

Video Transcript

"Hi I'm Lori Schneider from Figs Catering out of Austin, TX today on behalf of Expert Village we're going to show you how to make mini turkey and Parmesan burgers on pita bread. I've been in the culinary industry for about 13 years and through that time we made many dishes. In my catering business I'm always looking for new and unique ways to kind of recreate some of the same thing. For example, sliders. I love sliders and my clients love sliders especially when we have super bowl parties or tailgating. So one of the things I like to do is take sliders and make it into several different things. Today we're going to take sliders, the idea of sliders, and make it into a healthy option. So today we got mini turkey and Parmesan burgers with a De Jonge sauce. Today we have them on pita bread instead of the sandwich bread. In order to kind of help with the low fat. In this series we'll be making the turkey burger as well as taking care of the garnishes, warming up our pita and making a De Jonge sauce."
