"In our next clip we're going to be talking briefly about the actual act of jump roping and how it is one of the best loosening up exercises there is. A lot of times I'll have the people come into the gym and the first thing we're going to do is our stretches. Stretches are good for loosening up the muscles, you know the bones and tendons and ligaments, and a lot of the stretching is designed for particular areas that you're going to be using later on in boxing in particular muscle groups whereas jump roping, the act of jump roping is going to actually loosen up everything. You're going to be loosening up your toes, you're going to be loosening up your fingers, you're going to be loosening up your jaw, and you re going to be loosening up shoulders, big muscles, little muscles, big joints, little joints. One of the best exercises for loosening up is the jump rope. You can go outside and run around the block, you can get on the treadmill, you can do your calisthenics, but by far jump roping especially on a good shock absorbing mat is one of the best loosening up exercises you're going to be able to get."
