Series Summary

Boxing is a combat sport in which two participants of similar weight fight each other using only their fists. Boxing today is conducted in a regulated way, usually in a series of one to three-minute intervals called rounds. A winner is determined if the opponent is knocked down and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten, or if the opponent is deemed too injured to continue. If there is no stoppage of the fight before an agreed number of rounds, a winner is determined either by the referee's decision or by the scorecards of judges.

One way for boxers to work out is with medicine balls. In this free video series, a boxing coach and trainer will teach you a number of medicine ball exercises to make you a better boxer. He'll start with describing medicine ball options, and then move on to teaching dropping exercises and a number of medicine ball tosses, including the power hand toss, underhand toss, and the one-armed toss. You'll also learn how to do push ups and sit ups with a medicine ball, and how to lay on a medicine ball to work out the abs. With these tips and techniques, you'll be in better shape to be a boxer in no time!

Guy, how do you feel about the medicine balls and their working out? Well, the medicine ball is a very versatile piece of equipment, it's relatively inexpensive and you can do, basically anything with it. It's good for your hand-eye coordination, it's good for your endurance and the medicine ball really translates to any other sport or pretty much any activity that you're doing. Okay, thank you."
