"The next counter-punching demonstration we're going to do is we're going to counter the left jab by catching it with our own right hand and then continuing on with our own left jab. Rather than brushing it aside, rather than blocking it, we're actually catching it. The way that this works the best is if you're a boxer, a shorter boxer with a shorter reach, this instantly gives you the longer reach in most cases, as Nick and I will demonstrate here real quick. Nick, we're going to look at the reach. We're both going to put our hands on each other's face, and as you can clearly see, Nick has a much longer reach than me. But as Nick jabs me, and I mitt his left jab with my right hand and I continue on with my own left jab, now you can clearly see that I in fact have the longer jab because I'm simply, as he's jabbing me, I'm simply turning my wrist, catching it in the right. I'm not reaching for it, okay? Please don't reach for jabs. I'm just turning my wrist, catching it in a turned hand, then continuing on with my own left jab. Now I have the longer reach because I've mitted his jab, and I've stopped it right there. Thank you."
