"I'm Billy Kidd, here at Expert Village and we're going to talk about the nickel defense. Nickel defense, now negatives to your nickel defense. You got safety; you've got a strong safety. You've got a corner and you've got a corner and you've got another nickel back in the game, as extra cover guy. With that, that allows you that five people of coverage which allows you a six man front up here. Six man front typically is going to be what we call the four-two front, where you've got two defense ends, you've got two tackles and you've got two linebackers. The reason that they have the nickel defense in here is because you?re going to have probably four at least four receivers running pass routes, okay. And they can line these receivers up in any combination on the field. They can make it even. What you can call twins; twins can be two on this side and two on this side. They could do trips, right or left. Trips would be three receivers on the right, three receivers on the left. To try to get you a balance or to get you to overload one side or the other."
