"I"m Billy Kidd here at Expert Village. We are going to talk about the nickel defense. So that's why that secondary came up with the nickel turn. Because now you put five defensive backs in the game. You're going to take those five defensive backs and you're going to cover these receivers. Now, there's a couple ways you can cover these receivers. You can do a zone type coverage with these personnel. You can do a cover two where these two safeties are going to take half the field and just roam deep back there and look for the deep ball for any of these receivers that break deep. They are going to be there to help. And then you have these under guys the corners, the nickel backs. They are going to play a zone underneath. They are going to take thirds of the field. They are just going to cover up the middle here along with a couple line backers who are going to drop and take cover areas."
