"CHEF LASZLO SZALAI: Let's summarize how we prepare roasted duck leg and smashed potatoes with onion. We clean the duck and pull out the feathers if needed. Then we season it with salt, ground pepper, and marjoram and place it in the baking dish. We chop up the onion fine then we also chop up the tomato, paprika, garlic, and one apple. We pour oil on it and also add water. After, we cover it with foil and we bake it for an hour or a bit longer at 150 Celsius degree. Meanwhile, we prepare the side dish that is smashed potato with onion. First, we clean the potatoes and we cook them up in a cauldron in salted water. Once ready and cooled down, we peel the potato. We fry the diced onion in some oil until golden yellow. And we grate the cooked potato into it. We season it with salt, ground pepper, and caraway. We fry the potato until nice reddish. When the duck is also ready, we can serve the meal. In the middle of the plate comes the smashed potato and we stand the duck legs on it."
