"Today, we're going to talk about how to pick out a fresh onion. That one right there is looking pretty good. What you want to look for is a nice solid onion that's going to give you that nice crisp taste, nice crisp bite when you bite into it, whether you put it in a salad or on a sandwich, whatever. You're looking for that nice solid one with not too much skin on the outside, it's just, you're going to have to take it off anyway. If they have a lot more skin on them, that means they've probably been out for a little bit longer, they may be a little bit squishy, like this one, is way too dark. It's got way too much skin, it's squishy on the inside. You definitely want to stay away from anything that is squishy like that. There's one, anything with any brown and black spots like that on them, any kind of mold, squishy spot, any soft spot, you know you want to stay away from big gouges in them like that, you definitely want to stay away from. You're looking for that nice, pretty hard, solid, not a lot of skin on the outside. Size isn't going to matter too much here, you're just looking for a nice solid, not a lot of skin on the outside, and definitely stay away from any kind of dark, weird spots like that soft spot like that. Definitely stay away from that. You're looking for something more like that."
