"Today we're going to talk about how to pick out a fresh lemon from the Horrock's Farm Market. When trying to pick out a fresh lemon, you want to stay away from any kind of bruising like that, right there. That's not a good one. Any kind of little cuts that may have happened in the packaging and unpackaging and putting out on the table. Any kind of little marks like that you want to try and stay away from. You really want to stay away from anything that's still green like that. You want to get a nice, pretty dark yellow, I'd say the darkest yellow would probably be the best lemon. A nice, firm, not like rock hard, but it should give a little bit, but you want it to be pretty firm. Another thing to look for when picking out a fresh lemon is this lighter color here, it's almost a white compared to that yellow right there. It's not quite ripe. It's on the way. It's better than anything with green on it, but it's still not ripe, still needs a little bit of time. You want to go for that darker yellow, not like rock solid, but you don't want them to give too much. Anything like that you want to stay away from, a real soft spot like that. A little too ripe on that one. That one should probably be taken off the shelf."
