"Today we're going to talk about how to pick out a ripe watermelon; a lot of misconceptions on this one. This, we've got three different watermelons cut open here. This one is probably the best one, nice and solid, second, and the worst. A good way to tell what, how you're going to get this one is get about three or four of them, and give them a good knock on the side. Good knock like that. And just keep doing all three or four of them so you, kind of like a drum beat. But you want to hear for the hollowest one. The hollowest one is not going to have any of these cracks, and these big like gouges in them like that. That is a nice, hollow sounding when you hit it, completely solid watermelon. And when they're, when they sound kind of like hard like a rock, not much echo inside, you're going to end up with. I mean, it's just a big gap in there. It's just not as nice. It's going to, this is going to taste a lot better. This is a little too ripe. They waited too long on this one to cut it. It's just not going to have as crisp of a taste to it. It's going to be a little bit mushier. Just all in all, not as tasty as a nice hollow sounding watermelon. A good thing to do when picking out a watermelon is get about three, four, five of them in a row and just give them a good knock and a good listen. You're listening for a hollow sound. You don't, that is not ripe yet. A little bit better, and that one has an echo to it. That one is probably the most ripe right now out of this whole bunch right here because it has that echo. If you cut this one open right here, it's going to be completely solid on the inside. No cracks, no gouges, it's going to be totally ripe. Perfect watermelon right there."
