"Today in this clip we're going to talk about how to pick a ripe red bell pepper. When looking for a bell pepper, you want to definitely give them a squeeze. Don't want them to be too firm, not too soft. Something to look for is maybe a stressed out area. I mean, it kind of looks like wrinkles and it's kind of a soft spot. That's probably not the best one to pick. Other spots like that obviously, obviously, not a good pick there any kind of bruising like that, not well. You can also tell by the color. Obviously this one is a little bit lighter than this one. You want to go with the easy medium, not too light, not too dark. If there's green on them, they're not ripe yet. That one still has some green on it. Also at your local farm markets most of the time, if you did want to try any of the fruits or vegetables, you can have the produce manager or someone at the farm market to help you take it to the back. They'll cut it up for you and give you a taste, and they will help you pick which ones are bad. No bruising, no really light green colors on them. Just want a good, medium, red, not too hard, not too soft, no bruises. Sometimes they'll have little cuts on them from packaging. Want to stay away from that as well."
