"Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. I've made our 7 skewers and you see I've made them all exactly the same. This is very important to have the right look for the peacock feathers. I'm going to use a pedestal plate. It's always nice to have pedestal plates for your fruit displays. It gives it a nice grand look. I'm going to line it with some nice Romaine lettuce leaves. Pick some nice fresh ones. We'll put our peacock. You want to make sure it's sitting solidly on the platter because the tail feathers are very heavy. If it's not sitting solidly, it could tip it over. I'm going to start by filling it because I want to weigh down the inside. I'm going to take our watermelon balls and we'll refill. You don't want too much juice in there, so that's why I'm taking it out with my hands and leaving the juice behind. We have some extra orange pieces and pineapple pieces that we can put in there also. Just kind of alternate putting it in there to mix it up a bit. That will give us a nice amount of weight to hold down. Next, we're going to put our tail feathers in. Now, the end of the skewers are not sharp because our sharp end was here, so I'm going to take a sharp skewer. I'm going to take a look and see how I like how the tail feather is and then I'm going to push with this skewer a hole. You don't want to make the hole go all the way through. Just enough to put the tail feather on and have it stick up at the right angle. I've added another grape on the bottom the skewer was a little bit long and it was showing too much wood. My next one I want about there so I'm going to poke with my skewer. I'm going to add another grape and very carefully push it into the hole that I've made and the over here. Check to see how it looks. Poke the hole. See how having the fruits all the same on the skewers gives the look of a beautiful peacock tail. Now, don't be afraid to try other fruits. A kiwi right about here really looks like a peacock feather. That's a nice fruit to add to your tail feathers."
