Anything that is not kosher such as pigs or any animal that is not properly slaughtered is called treif and is not a part of a kosher diet. Also, things like meat and milk are never combined in the meal or even stored together. "Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village now we'll be making traditional matzah balls these are the ingredients we'll be using. One cup of matzah meal, 4 eggs, 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 cup of oil, I'm using 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of canola oil. Now with traditional recipes would call for sham alts or you can also use margarine melted margarine, a pinch of white pepper to taste, and 2 teaspoons of salt."
