    Creole cooking in Louisiana blends various aspects from the cuisines of the many different areas which contributed to the population of this diverse state, including Spain, France, Africa, the Caribbean, even Italy. In this colorful salad dish, you can imagine the flags of all of these regions coming together before your eyes, all joining forces for the singular goal of pleasing your palate. Shimp and Crab shall be the rulers of this new union, their royal tastes proclaiming the success of your dinner conquest.

    In this free series of Louisiana recipe videos, our Creole cuisine expert Karl James takes you step-by-step though the creation of your own Creole shrimp crab salad. Beginning with a colorful compliment of vegetables, including red, green and yellow bell peppers and red and green onions, Karl shows you how to layer the vegetables and garlic-tinged seasonings for maximum flavor satisfaction. And then of course there’s the seafood, boiled shrimp diced to facilitate maximum integration, and crab meat as the final touch of decadence. Top this dish off with a dash of lemon juice and a few drops of Worcestershire and you’re dining on a dish fit for a king.

    "Hi my name is Karl James owner of Creolesoul Catering located in Round Rock, Texas and on behalf of Expert Village I'm here to show you a creole shrimp crab salad. This creole shrimp crab salad that were going to do it's a nice cold salad and it's going to be full of color we're going to use red, green, yellow bell peppers, we're going to use red onions as well as some green onions, some parsley that green, red, yellow, red, green, yellow. Anyway those colors so we're going to do dice these up really small we're going to do something a little different with our shrimp we're not going to use them whole, once we get them cooked we're going to chop those up we're going to be adding some claw crab meat. On top of that a little boiled egg and we're going to use a little jicama for some sweetness and a little crunch, we're going to make a dressing with our mayo sour cream, a little lemon juice a dash of worcestershire and we're going to bring all of that together to create a nice creole, oh and a little pepper for some heat. We're going to bring all that together to bring you a creole shrimp crab salad."
