Invited a chicken to your dinner party, but unsure what it should wear? After all, the original clothing is long gone, that soft full-body suit which now stuffs your comfy quilts and pillows. You could allow the main course to go au naturale, a rather bland and unexciting look and taste unless your swinger guests follow suit. Then perhaps these daring diners might be relieved to focus their attention on something more pink, prone and plucked than themselves. Rather more tasteful options include the crispy tan attire favored at deep-fried establishments in the South or the summertime reddish-brown outfit often sighted at summertime backyard gatherings across the land. Yet these options can seem passee, too messy or otherwise out of the question.
What you want is a look both daring and practical, both hip and homely, one which will be perfect for a sports bar, yet not out of place at an art opening. What you need is orange, the color of Florida football and Monet sunsets. And now the color of your dapper fowl as well. Add a bit of sparkle in the glaze and a dash of garlic to top off the outfit and your chicken is dressed to impress!
Follow along in this series of free recipe videos as our professional Creole cooking chef Karl James shows off his delicious recipe for orange glazed chicken wings. "Hi! My name is Karl James, owner of Creosoul Catering located in Round Rock, Texas and on behalf of Expert Village, I am here to show you an orange honey glazed chicken wing recipe. Now we are going to work on our orange honey glazed chicken wing recipe. It is a series of chicken wing recipes that I have been doing where we are just going to change the sauce here a little bit. These chicken wings are good for appetizers, you know if you have people over watching a sporting event, whether football, boxing, whatever. It is a quick and easy recipe. You can get them done, sit them out and you can do different flavors. This one is orange honey glazed. We are going to use honey for the sweetness. We are going to use orange marmalade where we are going to get the sweetness and from the orange we are going to get a little bit of citrus. We are also going to use zest from an orange, a little orange juice. We are also going to use some Balsamic Vinegar to give it a little tartness. Any way we are going to pre-fry our chicken wings. I sit those to the side. I'll mix our sauce up together, stick them in the oven and orange honey glazed chicken wings. Let's get started. "
