"Then you got breads that are like semi soft, like these we call French rolls here. These are very soft bread. That softness was created by adding a little bit of sugar to it and a little bit of shortening, and the reason it's called shortening to begin with is because if you have a gluten strength that fat that you put in there it cuts the gluten and makes the gluten shorter that's why it's called shortening. It?s how shortening came from there. making the gluten shorter is called shortening, that's where the name came from and that gives you a nice high rising bread, very soft inside, no crust what so ever, delicious. This will make a delicious hamburger bun or a roll for a nice sandwich then you can braid it. It's easy to."
