"Hi everybody I'm Jasmine and I'm the host of 'Gloria's Cooking' but today I'm here on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to show you how to make a ham. Ham, ham, ham! I love ham! Ham ham! And we've got an onion . So Im going to cut the onion in half with the paper on 'cause its so much easier to get the paper off. And we're going to just come over here. And see this little part here? And this part here? We're going to cut that right off 'cause its not good. Well its a good part of the onion but its not going to go in our ham. We're going to start with half an onion now. Lost the cutting board. And we just peel the paper off. Now, see the garlic is brown? Its nice and toasted. You don?t want to take it any farther than this because it will burn and you will have to start over because your garlic will be burnt and it will taste terrible. So we will move it over there off the heat totally and its going to cool down. So, three big chunks out of your onion and just kind of cut the chunks in half and go at it. And you don't want to big of pieces either because you don't want this to burn just like you don't want your garlic to burn. But you want big flavorful pieces. Alright. Now before I put one handful in I'm going to go ahead and chop up the other two so that it can all get cooking at the same time. I want the other half to cook. You don't want too much onion flavor, with our ham because with too much onion and garlic it can be really, really overpowering. And we don't want a onion, garlicky ham. So we're going to come in and chop chop chop. Just like we did on the garlic. Preferably a 'fine dice' if you can. If you can't just guide it with the knife. Or what I like to do sometimes is throw it into the food processor and um, I like to put it into the food processor and that way you get nice fine pieces. The only problem with that is, you get a lot of juices and you don't want that."
