How to Change Dies for a Pasta Maker

"After you started making some pasta and maybe you changed your mind or you made a nice big batch of dough, you want to change the dye. What we're going to do is gently remove the casting that is holding the first dye on. You can do this mid pasta batch, you don't have to go through all of your dough before you decide to change the dye. It doesn't matter if you have dough already in the machine or not. You want to gently pry the dye off. You're probably going to have a lot of dough sticking to it so you want to scrap as much of this off with your knife cause you want to be able to use it. But in the meantime you want to kind of want to shove that back in there and put on your other dye. You want to make sure when you are putting the other dye on that this part your little hole for holding the dye in place is not covered up. Otherwise it's not going to work so you're going to lock it back into place, you can see that it is secure in there and you're going to put this back on to hold it into place. Now by now you probably felt the power of the dough going through it moves a lot, it's pretty strong. You want to make sure to get this on nice and tightly again as I said before don't make it too tight so you can get it off again. We can go back to picking out as much dough as possible. Once you get the dough out, that you can you are not going to be able to get out the little pieces in here. Don't worry about it. What you're going to do is just let it dry and then the dry dough will pop right out."
