"Hi this is Chuck Byers for Expert Village. And we are going to be talking about champagne, sparkling wine and food. Now, some of you may think that champagne is used only for the celebration of special events, births, marriages etc... However sparkling wine or champagne can be used in many ways. For example, did you know that you could use sparkling wine for an entire meal? Whether it's sweet or whether it's dry, the entire meal will suffice because those tiny bubbles will make all the difference. They will cut through grease, they will cut through fat. And they will make the saltiest food taste sweet. Or you could have three types of champagnes a sweet for an aperitif, a medium dry for the first course, and a dry for the main course, with a particular food. So, when you are talking about sparkling wine, when you are talking about champagne, keep in mind that anything is game. Because sparkling wine and champagne can go the gamut. Now when you are talking about a sweet wine and dessert, whether it's a sparkling wine or whether it's a regular wine, the wine should be as sweet or sweeter than the dessert. Otherwise you will get a funny taste in your mouth. But regardless sparkling wine can make that particular difference, whether it's for the entire meal or dessert or by itself. Enjoy."
