The man who stood toe-to-toe with Muhammad Ali in Zaire almost 35 years ago, the man who brought the rumble to the jungle, has since moved on to bigger and better things. In 1995, George Foreman launched the famous countertop grill bearing his name…and the world has never been the same since.
The George Foreman Grill has a distinct feature that makes it attractive to many health-conscious consumers. Aside from being an electric grill that will heat up in seconds instead of minutes, easy to clean, quick, small and convenient, the Foreman grill has a tilted construction that helps grease drain away from foods as they are cooking. It captures all the unwanted, artery-choking fat in its little plastic tray, strategically placed at the bottom edge of the grill.
Is there anything this little machine can’t do?
In this free cooking video series, learn how to make some easy George Foreman Grill recipes. Chef Brandon Sarkis shows you how to cook everything from corn and potatoes to tilapia and t-bone steaks. Take his word for it—and mine as well: this little grill packs one big punch when it comes to cooking power. "My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to use a George Foreman grill to make stuff besides grilled cheese sandwiches and hot dogs. OK, I've got a pretty gigantic assortment of things that we're going to go over today. I've got pork, I've got chicken, I've got a hot dog here, got zucchini, corn, asparagus, tomatoes, potatoes, got some nice shrimp over here, got a piece of salmon and a piece of tilapia. Back over here I've got a beef tenderloin and a rib eye. We're just going to go over how to cook a whole bunch of stuff today but the most important part of this is.... I'm just going to show you that you can cook pretty much anything on the George Foreman Grill. Other things you are gonna need: a brush is always handy as well as some olive oil because you are going to be brushing everything with oil for the most part, and just salt and pepper. So I'm just going to show you how to cook it with salt and pepper, you can do whatever you want on this stuff. You can even use some seasoned salt or something like that. I think that's pretty much everything we need to get started so let me show you a little bit more about the grill."
