Series Summary

Bread has served as one of the most basic, yet essential, foodstuffs man has ever known. For centuries, even before yeast and the leavening process were discovered, bread was a large part of the diet of people of almost every civilization. It is believed that the first bread was eaten as far back as the Neolithic Era, when, through the serendipity of a happy accident, a caveman cooked water and cereal grains together. Yet this seemingly inconsequential find, a simple crust of bread, would forever change how a people survive vicious, cold winters without growing crops or animals to hunt. And bread is still one of the most widely consumed foods in the world today. As modern as we are, we still depend on bread and foods derived from bread for our daily sustenance.

In this free video series, our expert takes a look at a bread that has become more popular in the past few years called focaccia bread. In this recipes series you will learn how to make focaccia bread wedges, with step by step instructions on how to prepare the toppings including peppers, onion and garlic. You will also get tips on how to bake your focaccia bread wedges, how to serve it to friends and family and how much it costs to make. If you are looking for a Mediterranean style dish for dinner tonight, let our expert show you how to make this focaccia bread wedges recipe.

"Hi, this is Rich Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make quick fix focaccia wedges. Alright, our ingredients today. We're going to need some boboli pizza crust dough. It's in the supermarket. I swear buy this stuff. It's great. It comes already made. That's number one. Number two, you're going to need a can of white beans. Small white beans or regular white beans are fine. You're going to need a little bit of chicken broth or white wine. I tend to use a little bit of both. Then we're going to go over, we're going to need some Parmesan cheese to top off. I'm going to need a little butter and olive oil for sauteing our onions. We're going to get them nice and caramelized. About three onions and and we're going to use about two small cloves of garlic. Also going to use some red pepper. And to season everything today we're just going to use salt and pepper, fresh pepper, to taste and we're going to use some fresh thyme and add some dried marjoram that is also nice. If you can get fresh marjoram, it's much better, especially to garnish with. But I had some dried, so I used that today. Put these together and we're going to make some nice stuff here today. Come back. We're making it here on Expert Village."
