"Hi, this is Travis on behalf of Expert Village talking to you today about healthy snacks for kids and what I wanted to start off showing you is the vegetarian food pyramid. And whether you are vegetarian or not these are some of the things you are going to want to consider and get into your kids meals and snacks on a daily and weekly basis. What it starts off with is daily physical activity. Daily physical activity is the basis of our pyramid. Of course that is what we want to do everyday whether it is walking, jumping on a trampoline, running or jogging but having our kids be physically active on a daily basis. And then at every meal we want to have whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Obviously good things. Legumes and beans, red beans, black beans, kidney beans, vegetarian beans. And then above that, in the middle, for our daily intake, nuts and seeds, cashews, peanuts, almonds are highly recommended, plants and oils, olive oil, dairy, soy milk and egg whites on a daily basis and then on a weekly basis, at the top of the pyramid, we've got eggs and sweets. So that runs out the vegetarian diet pyramid, and again, whether you are vegetarian or not, it's a good place to reference so that you get an idea of healthy choices for your children that you can break down into any one of those categories and break out into various different snacks which you are going to be able to see by what we show you today. So, healthy eating."
