"Now that our garlic is cut we're going to go ahead and move that off to the side. We're going to turn our front burner on to about six. Then we're going to open our can of beets. If you're not using canned beets, if you're using whole beets, you're going to want to slice them and then boil them in water. Put our beets here and we'll let those heat up. While we're waiting for that we'll take our sweet potato or our yam, either one that you have and go ahead and remove the skin. Discard these ends then we'll cut in half and then we're going to go along on both pieces. We're going to cut these into small even pieces so that they will all cook evenly."
