"Hi, this is Richard Buccola of New York City and on behalf of Expert Village, today I am going to show you how to make some mashed potatoes. And so you get your potatoes peeled and your mess is right here, so it is all self contained and you can do this right here at the table. Just throw it out in your garbage. What my aunt would say you are going to mash the potatoes anyway so just cut them into quarters. What you want to do is just cut them in half and cut that half in half and then cut that half in half. If it's not perfect, it doesn't matter. It's just to help with the cooking time. It will go a lot faster. So again just to show you, here's a potato and just going to cut it in half and then you are going to cut it in half again and then you are going to cut that half in half. You are just quartering them and put them back in your bowl. When you get them all cut, you are going to bring them over to your pot of boiling water and dump them in and you are going to know that they are cooked when you can stick a fork or knife through them and not be able to pick the potato off. The potato will fall off the knife. That is an old trick to know that they are done. When we come back, we are going to finish this up, get them in the boiling water and continue making mashed potatoes here on Expert Village. "
