"Hi, this is Richard Buccola of New York City and on behalf of Expert Village, today I am going to show you how to make some mashed potatoes. Alright so I am back and I started peeling my potatoes. You are going to have to get yourself a potato peeler. A potato peeler also has a little thing on top here. A little dug out groove here you see and that is to get the eyes of the potato which I'll see if I have one. Get yourself a bowl, just sit at the table and get a good grasp on it. You never want to come this way when you are peeling. You always want to get away from you and just get a good grasp on it and wherever your fingers are, be careful because you could cut yourself and you don't want to. You are just going to start cutting your potatoes straight down and getting that skin off. An old trick is that you leave these sitting out waiting before you start to cook them, they will start to turn yellow. My aunt used to say to put a bowl of water with salt in it, they won't turn yellow as bad. So again, cut half of it and then you grab the other side and just nice and easy, get off your skin. If you miss a spot, that is okay. You can come back and get it later. Just trying to get everything off. If you happen to see an eye like this, there's a eye right there, just dig it out like that. So just give it a quick cut and this is where you could sit with your children and get them involved. It makes it a little easy. You are all at the dinner table and it is always nice to be with your family and that's it. You miss a couple of spots, you turn your thing, you hold it inside and get that skin off. When we come back, I'll have these all cut up and we'll start adding them to our boiling water. "
