on 5/25/2009 Hello, i am enjoying your videos, but i cannot seem to find the video on how to ADD the wood chips. i just got a brinkmann offset smoker grill (yeseterday!) and i LOVE IT to just plain grill on, but i want to learn how to smoke ribs. When do I add the chips? How? When do i add the ribs? So i don't need any other heat source other than the smoker? Please let me know, it seems to be the missing gap in your videos. If you already have that one on youtube or expert village, please just point me to the correct video. THANK YOU!!!

"This is Paul on behalf of Expert Village and just to wrap a few things up here about smoking ribs we talked about types of smokers you can buy. There are offset smokers, there are what I like to call bullet style smokers that upright, there's all kinds theres there's electric, there's propane pilot. You can spend thousands of dollars on a smoker if you choose but to get great results in your backyard all you need to do is go to one of your mega hardware stores and pick unit that we showed in this video the offset for under 200 bucks and get the results that everybody is going to love including your friends and family. On a final note I'd like to talk about cooking times there are many different opinions on how to cook and smoke ribs. One common one is the 3 2 1 method where you put the ribs on the smoker for 3 hours, 2 hours in aluminum foil, 1 hour out of the aluminum foil for final cook where you caramelize the barbecue sauce. There's tons of opinions out there what I recommend is experimentation you'll find depending on the temperature that your able to stabilize the smoker at, and the kinds of meat you might buy you might come up with different results. By following the tips in these series of videos as well as doing some research on your own, rather on the internet or reading some books and experimenting you'll be well on your way to creating the ultimate rack of ribs."
