"Hi my name is Karl James owner of Creolesoul catering and on behalf of Expert Village I'm here to show you a simple chicken and sausage gumbo. Okay we are going to make a little rice here that is what we are going to serve the gumbo over some rice. We are going to do a quick instant rice. We got the water boiling some salt water boiling we are going to add our rice to that. Then we would stir that in, remove it from the heat, cover it, remove from the heat and let it sit oh 5 minutes and our rice should be ready. By that time so should our gumbo if you are not doing instant rice you can do a long grain rice. Basically you want to take your rice, rinse it, wash it, wash it to it is clear you get a lot of impurities and the starches off, you boil 2 cups of water, and 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water is normally correct, add the rice to the boiling water, bring it to a boil, turn the heat down, simmer for about oh 15-20 minutes, take it off and you should have some perfect rice right there. Anyway we would wait for our rice to get done and we would move on and show you the final dish."
