"Hi, this is Dave for Expert Village. Today we are going to make white bean soup with hamhocks and cornbread. We have our can beans with this liquid in the pot here it's getting heated up. Then what we want to do since we have and I'll show you what this hamhock is we want to add a little more water to this. Then stir that around we want to get this pretty hot. Now let me tell you what a hamhock is if you haven't had one before. This is actually the ankle of the pig it has a lot of meat on here this is the skin on the outside. What you want to do and this is a really highly smoked and very delicious it's a lot like ham. I like this a little bit better it's not as salty but what we want to do we already done this. But we boiled this in water for about an hour in a half two hours to soften the meat a little bit, it's already fully cooked but we want to soften this up. I'll show you how to prepare the hamhock."
