"Hi, this is David for Expert Village and today we are going to make smothered chicken with maque choux casserole. So now we have some boiling water cause we are going to make some rice. What I like to do is just go ahead and seasoning this up a little bit. Now in this case, I'm using instant rice; it only takes 5 minutes. If you want to go ahead and make your own it would take about 20 minutes but it just depends on how much time you have. This is just right I think for going underneath our beautiful stew. So I just want to put a couple of grinds of salt in there. We have this to a rolling boil as you can see, so now we want to turn it off since it is instant rice. Turn it off; we are going to add equal amount of rice and water. So we have 1 cup of water, we are going to add 1 cup of rice. We can even, since the burner is still hot you can just take this right off, move it around just to cover it and just put a lid on it. This would just steam for about 5 minutes and you would have some perfect rice."
