Video Transcript

"My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village today I am going to show you how to make Chicken a la Cacciatore or Hunter's style Chicken. All right for our chicken cacciatore we've got a pretty small selection of ingredients over all. I have three tomatoes, just like this, try to get the ripest tomatoes you can find, obviously. One three and a half to four pound chicken, that is a little small for a chicken but we don't want to get the really big chickens, it is just too hard to cook, it doesn't cook right. Two ounces of extra virgin olive oil, that is what we are going to use to cook everything in. I've got one medium sized onion here, a yellow onion, you can also use a yellow onion if you would like. I've got three cloves of garlic. Try to use the fresh stuff, not that jarred stuff or the canned stuff. I've a cup of white wine, I'm actually using Chardonnay. I recommend Chardonnay, anything else can impart a little too much weird flavor into your food. Don't go overboard, don't buy anything crazy expensive, but also don't buy the cheapest stuff you can find. The cheapest stuff you can find usually will make your food taste a little weird so go with a bottle that is like five bucks instead of that three dollar bottle. And, let's see what else we have here. I have one cup of chicken stock that you can buy in the grocery store in a can or you can buy it, you can actually use bouillon if you really want but I prefer using the canned stuff. And I've got some oregano over here, I'm going to get a quarter cup out of this, so I'll show you how to pluck all that later and also obviously salt and pepper. So with that let me show you what equipment you're going to need to get started and let's get on our way."
